Acupuncture

When it comes to pain relief and releasing tight trigger points in the body, acupuncture is one of the best treatment modalities we use at Body Wise Health.

For those who have never experienced acupuncture before, it involves the insertion of fine needles into the body for pain relief, release of trigger points and helping the body with healing. A number of needles may be used at each treatment and these are typically left in position for up to 20-30 minutes before being removed. A needle is manipulated until a QI sensation is felt (a tingling or often warm heavy sensation).

Physiotherapists in New Zealand use acupuncture needles that are disposable, single use and pre-sterilised of varying widths and lengths.
